The San Diego College for Women Postcard Collection

Image

Copley Library’s Special Collections & Archive houses a beautiful collection of more than 200 linen postcards from all over the United States.  The postcards were collected by the sisters of the Society of the Sacred Heart who established and administered the San Diego College for Women.  Many of the postcards have hand-written notes, authored by former students and sent to their teachers, the nuns.

To see a selection of the postcards from California, visit Copley Library where a display of these vivid and brilliant artifacts will be on display until the end of the school year.  To view the postcards on-line, and read the charming notes from the students, visit SALLY and search for “postcard.”
