Copley Library hosted its first Tabletop Game Night from 5:00pm to 8:30pm on Friday, November 13, in the iconic Mother Hill Reading Room. Librarians Martha Adkins, Julia Hess, and Lisa Burgert planned the event as part of the library’s outreach to first-year students, with an open invitation to the entire student body. The library provided more than twenty-five games and served light refreshments, including freshly-popped popcorn. Twelve students participated in Game Night, contesting against each other and eight Copley librarians and a Copley staff member for a win in their favorite games. The students indicated that they enjoyed their game-playing evening and would like Copley to repeat it in the future. The planners hope to offer the event at least once a semester.
The list of games offered at Friday night’s Game Night included: Cranium, Apples to Apples, Taboo, Family Game Center (Chess, Checkers, etc.), Pictionary, Fluxx, Pandemic, Ticket to Ride U.S., Munchkin, Munchkin Zombies, Carcassone, Settlers of Catan, Forbidden Island, 7 Wonders, Tsuro, Love Letters, Settlers & Seafarers, Dominion, Star Munchkin 2 – Clown Wars, Star Fluxx, Phase 10, Skip-Bo, Yahtzee, Battleship, Boggle, and Scrabble. Do you see your favorite game listed? If not, contact Martha Adkins, Lisa Burgert, or Julia Hess to include it in the next Game Night!
