Important announcement: Copley Library’s main floor was closed to patrons temporarily 7/25-7/27 but has been reopened, and services including printing, computer access, and the front desk are once again available. The Mother Rosalie Hill Reading Room remains accessible and unaffected by construction.
We are OPEN.
While Copley has remained open and available to patrons throughout the renovation, we understand if the disruption has been a hassle for regular usage. We have a front seat view!

So we’re here today to offer a few tips that will make it easier to utilize the library’s resources right from the comfort of your own home:
- Is there a book you really want? Let us traverse the stacks for you! Just “request it,” and we’ll send you an email when the book is available for pick up from the front desk.
- Is there a book you really want, but you can’t find it in our catalog? Request it from Circuit, and again, we’ll send you an email when the book is available for pick up from the front desk.
- The library also offers many online resources. Explore some of our non-print options via our Databases and Journals.
In the meantime, our construction team is hard at work to improve the library for the new semester. And don’t forget to subscribe to Copley Library’s Construction Guide and to follow the library on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook for the latest information and updates on the project’s progress.
We have all heard variations on the saying “Every transformation gets worse before it gets better” right? To those who have visited the Copley Library this summer, even though we might look like a hot mess right now, construction crews are working hard to complete a massive HVAC and water pipe renovation project. We are enduring the sauna-like heat, so we can have a nice temperate climate in the future. No more pocket zones of hot and cold!
So what is new this week? The front desk has moved (yes again!) to a temporary location around the corner from the usual Access Services desk. Say “Cheese” Matthias!
Downstairs….well downstairs looks a ‘lil creepy! One might even say the things nightmares are made of. That is the hallway leading to the Seminar and Conference rooms…
And here is the seminar room…
We are staying positive here at the Copley Library as construction progress continues!!

This week our Administrative offices located in the Mother Hill Reading Room were re-opened and administrative personnel were able to settle back in.
The South Group Study Room also located in the Mother Hill Reading Room is now available as well.
Access Services is currently being cleaned and the front desk (temporarily located in the Reference area) will be returning to its normal locale early next week.
The Bloomberg Terminal has been seeing its fair share of visitors lately. The workstation will be available all summer long!

We are officially in Phase 3. Renovations continue to move forward unabated!
The biggest change this week is that Access Services aka Circulation has moved to Reference’s space on the main floor. Also, now open are the main floor restrooms, Mother Rosalie Hill Reading Room, and the Camino Stacks. To use the Camino Stacks you will need to enter through the Mother Rosalie Hill Reading Room.
