Find a Workshop that Works for You

In last week’s blog post, we mentioned workshops as one of the many resources offered by the library. In fact, workshops are one of the best resources the library has to offer, and we consider workshops useful enough to list them as one of the 3 Ways Copley Library Can Help You Succeed.

Welcome to Copley Library!

Copley LibraryWhether you are a returning student or new to the University of San Diego, Copley Library would like to welcome you on your return for the new academic year! As part of our welcome, you will see us out and about at events on campus, like yesterday’s Alcala Bazaar. In the meantime, we urge you to come visit the library and get acquainted with our services and resources. We want to do our best to support your research and study needs.

The library offers many avenues for you to find out about our services and resources, including a wealth of information on our website as well as in-person assistance from our reference librarians and access services desk. Need to ask a question remotely? We also offer the option to submit a question to our Ask-A-Librarian FAQs if we don’t already have an answer on our site. We also provide Live Chat, text, and email interaction with reference librarians through Ask-A-Librarian.

On our website, you can search the library collections (print and virtual) using the search box that is prominently displayed in the middle of the page. Need help using the search box? Come to one of our workshops that cover all of this and more!search-boxWe offer additional information through our website to help you use the library. For instance, our Borrowing Policies explain the types of material (books, DVDs, Music CDs, etc.) that you can borrow and the length of loan period you can expect for each type. If you need to book a room for Group Study, our policies page explains the process and provides a link to the online reservation system. Do you need to borrow a laptop or phone charger while you are in the library? Our Computers and Equipment page details the types of equipment that the library circulates and also gives a quick check on the number of laptops currently available for checkout.

When you are ready to tackle research, our Research Guides can help you get started. Several guides cover subject-related research, like Peace Studies or Engineering or Nursing, while others review components of research like citation and style.

Want to keep up-to-date with what is happening in Copley Library? You can follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. And progress on our current HVAC construction is posted on our Copley Library Construction Guide. We hope to have the building completely back to normal by the end of September!

The librarians and staff of Copley Library look forward to helping you succeed this school year. Come see us!
