Once St. Didacus was safely removed from the Copley Library entrance, construction on the new library entrance went into full swing. And YES, Copley is definitely OPEN during construction. The temporary entrance is located at the back of the building. Just follow the signs and library staff will be inside to help you find your way around.
We are open Monday – Thursday 8am – 9pm ; Friday 8am – 5pm ; Saturday 10 am – 6pm and Sunday 1pm – 9pm. Click here for summer holiday closures and Reference Hours. Also, check out the Services page for info on how we can help during the summer months.
The bulk of the noise (and shaking of the building) occurred last week as the construction crew was demolishing the front staircase. With the staircase out of the way, the rest of construction should not cause too much impact on those studying in Copley.
This construction will incorporate the Library entrance with the rest of the Colachis Plaza project. Colachis Plaza, estimated to be completed sometime in August, will feature garden space, walkways, study areas, and a central lawn that will run from Copley Library to the Immaculata. There will also be a new fountain in front of Copley Library. The Construction Cam is set up just outside the library so you can see how the project is progressing. Also check back here for updates throughout the summer.
